Decorating House

Although I am quite crafty, but somehow, I can not decorate my house nicely. I don’t have the knack to do it. When somebody visits my house, they won’t know that I like to do handycraft. I don’t put doily on the table or hang cross stitch on my wall.

While I was surfing in the internet looking for ideas how to decorate my new house, I come across this site. They have wide selection of Buddha inspired products. If you are buddist, you can find my Budha related objects there. You can even decorate your living room with Buddha Statues or Budha Aroma Lamp.

Need to Renovate The House

Did I tell you that we are moving house? We still need to make some renovation before moving. My parents are coming next month. I really hope that we can mave in before they are coming. We also need to add a few electricity sockets for my hubby’s entertainment centre.

Anyway, if you are looking for compression connectors and tools, you can check this compression connector site out. They have many different types of connectors and tools, include RCA connectors, F connectors, and BNC connectors. The FS6U connector will fit almost any RG6 cable even quad shielded RG6, along with the CPLCCT-SLM tool. The store stocks double bubble connectors and “hard-to-find” Right angle connectors. These connectors fit coaxial cables.

Picking the Perfect Pin

Straight pins are a simple tool that we use every time we sew. Many of us take this tool for granted and may not be aware that different types of pins are designed for different fabrics and uses. For me, because I enjoy a wide variety of sewing projects, I have several types and lengths on hand for each of my special projects.

Pin Construction

Pins are made from brass, steel or stainless steel.

Brass pins are usually nickel-plated. Be careful with brass pins because the nickel-plating may leave a black mark that is not easy to remove on the fabric. The advantage of brass pins is they have a very sharp point and typically will not rust.

Steel pins are the least expensive to purchase, but the steel may rust. The advantage of a steel pin is that steel is stronger than brass -- an advantage when working with heavy wools or drapery fabric. Plus, I like working with steel pins because of my magnetic pin holder. (Remember: If you have a magnetic pin holder, don't place it near an electronic device or embroidery machine because it may damage the computer chips.) Sometimes steel pins will be nickel-plated, which helps to prevent rusting.

Stainless steel pins do not rust and are the strongest pins available. Their only disadvantage is they are the most expensive.

Pin Heads

Pin heads can be flat, may have a ball at the end or be T-shaped.

A flat head is the most common pin head because it is the least expensive to produce. This is a great standard pin for sewing lightweight fabric like cottons or broadcloths.

A ball head is one step up from the flat head. The advantage of a ball head is that it is easier to see. I prefer a ball head for all of my sewing, but especially for heavier fabrics like denim or bulky fabrics like sweatshirts or polar fleece. I find the head is easier to grab hold of for inserting and pulling out of the fabric.

A ball head may be made from either plastic or glass. Glass heads are more expensive than plastic heads, but, if your budget allows it, purchase glass heads over plastic heads. A plastic head will melt from the heat of an iron whereas the glass heads will not melt.

A T-shaped head is used for crafts and draperies. Typically the pin is longer, and the larger head makes it easier to insert into and pull out of multiple layers of fabrics or heavy wools.

Pin Length and Diameter

The length of a pin is stated in sixteenths of an inch. Translated, this means that a no. 16 pin is one inch long (or 16/16) while a no. 17 pin is 1 1/16 inches long. In general, pins range in length from a no. 8 (8/16 or 1/2 long) to a no. 24 (1 1/4 inches long). As a general rule, use longer pins for bulky fabric or layered fabrics and shorter pins for delicate fabrics.

The most common pin is called a dressmaking pin or no. 17. This pin is considered to have a medium diameter, and it is used just like the name implies, for general garment sewing.

A pleating pin, or no. 16, has a smaller diameter than a dressmaking pin. It is designed to be used on fine or delicate fabric.

A long pin, or no. 24, is used for heavyweight fabric (thick wools with lots of bulk), draperies or crafts.

Pin Points

And yes, even the point on a pin is different depending on its usage. However, most pins are considered "sharps," meaning the pin has a pointed tip. A sharp is the standard pin point, but you can also purchase ballpoint-tipped pins for knits.

Final Pin Tips

Here are a few additional tidbits of information for your pin selection. Before pinning into your fabric, always test your pin on scrap fabric. Some fabrics, like vinyl, leather and oilcloth, will have permanent holes from the pin. When pinning these types of fabric, always pin into the seam allowance.

Pins are just like needles; they will become dull, bent or broken after usage. Throw your old pins out, as a dull pin can cause a run in your fabric.

And finally, don't sew or serge over your pins. A pin slightly distorts the seam allowance and may lead to seams that don't lay as flat or may be crooked. Serging over a pin will dull the blades of your serger; however, your pin will be neatly chopped in two pieces.

It Is in The Gene

Sometimes I wonder how come some people can eat a lot (and I mean a lot) and yet won’t gain excess weight, and some people exercises regularly and watch what they eat and they still cannot reduce their weight. It must be because of their genes. I mean if your parents are not obese, most probably you won’t obese too, but I might be wrong.

If you have money, and you are concerned about your health because you are obese, you might consider lapband as your alternative way to reduce your weight. Make sure you have an experienced lap-band doctor to do the surgery.

SurfRecon

So, you suspect that your employees are surfing porn sites at work, but you don’t want to confront them because you don’t want to create hostile work environment lawsuit. What to do? Easy, you just have to install one of those pornography detection tools like SurfRecon ERT. SurfRecon ERT (emergency response tool) allows an IT or HR professional to quickly and discreetly review a suspect computer for pornographic content, without have to expose themselves to that content.

Plastic Surgery

I am not against plastic surgery if it is necessary, because everybody deserve to feel confidence about themselves. However, I can not understand on people that do plastic surgery just because they want to look like their movie star idol.

Anyway, deciding on plastic surgery is an important decision to make. Deciding on which plastic surgeon is an even greater task. Find a Kansas City Plastic Surgeons in Kansas City that offers breast augmentation, liposuction, rhinoplasty and more. View before and after photos and make an educated decision.

Kitchen Towels

I always dream to have a very nice and big kitchen. A kitchen that is clean and pretty, the one that you don't mind to stay for the whole day. My kitchen is kind of small, messy and hot. No wonder I hate to cook. Probably I will make these kitchen towels to make my kitchen nicer.

Probably I have to get Caller ID Spoofing. For those that never heard, with Caller ID Spoofing you can change what shows on the Caller ID. 123Spoof.com is now offering Free Unlimited 2 minute ad-supported Free Spoofing Calls.

Lightship Research

Lightship Research is a well-known Chicago-based research and recruiting firm that has been helping corporate hiring authorities, executive recruiters, and individual job hunters since 1982.
Read below testimonial:

"I got laid off as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing of a new media company in the Bay area. I was recommended by a recruiter to call Lightship Research to help me with my job search, as I wanted to relocate to New York City. I was a little skeptical at first, as I had always used traditional recruiters in the past, but they were not producing any interviews and I needed a job quickly. I spoke with a reference that had used their services and decided to give them a try. Their strategist was very knowledgeable and came up with some good ideas. They really know how to get under the radar and find companies, that you would never have thought of and then find the direct hiring authority. I got four interviews and an offer in 30 days (yes in this economy), which I accepted. Lightship Research http://www.lightshipresearch.com you rock!"

Frogging

Sometimes when you read on knitting or crocheting blog, you come accross "frogging" word. What is frogging? Where does it come from?

The term "frogging" means to take the needle out of your stitches and remove some work done in error. The term comes from the sound a frog might make: rip it, rip it, rip it!If you need to remove only a few stitches or have a complicated stitch pattern, the term we use is tink, which is knit spelled backward, indicating that you are unknitting, but only one stitch at a time.

General Thread Rules

With the array of thread available, how do you know which thread is best for your project? The following are some guidelines to help you select the perfect thread for your project.

Color: Pick thread that is one shade darker than the fabric.

Weight: Match the thread weight to the fabric weight. Threads are ranked by a number system. A high number indicates a light (or fine) thread, and the medium weight of thread is a 50 weight.

Fiber: Try to match thread fiber to fabric fiber. Cotton fabric should be sewn with cotton thread; polyester or manmade fiber should be sewn with polyester thread. If possible, don't sew natural fibers with polyester thread. Polyester fiber is stronger than most natural thread, so over time, the stronger polyester thread can break the weaker cotton fiber of the fabric. For quilting, look for thread labeled "machine quilting" or "hand quilting."

Twist: The amount of spin of the thread fibers. A thread with a high amount of twist will be smoother, shinier and stronger than thread with little or no twist.

Eyewear

If you are looking for prescription eyewear frames or you are an optometrits or eye clinics you probably want to take a look at Zen Eyewear. Zen Eyewear manufactures prescription eyewear frames and sells primarily to private optometrists and eye clinics. They have a wide variety of styles and take pride in being able to offer frames at great prices in current economy, where everybody trying to buy less expensive stuffs. Even their price is low, their quality is not. After all, quality and trendy styles are important to them.

Serger Thread

Serger threads are available in the same fibers as general sewing threads, with the exception of woolly nylon. Woolly nylon is a nylon thread that has little or no twist. Used in the upper looper for a rolled edge or in the upper and lower loopers for lingerie sewing, this thread is designed to gently relax after it's sewn and cover the edge finish. It has lots of stretch and is soft against your skin. Its one drawback is that it will melt in the dryer or under a hot steam iron.

Most serger thread is sold by the cone. Look for cone thread that is tightly wrapped and consistent in width. When using your serger for edge finishing, don't worry too much about matching the thread color. Most serger owners will invest in the basic colors of thread, black, brown, gray and white, to match the edge finishes as needed. If using your serger for seaming and edge finishing, it's the outside needle that creates the seam. Often, just matching this thread to the fabric is enough.

Psoriasis Drug that Can Kill Patients

If you or your family member has psoriasis and are taking the psoriasis drug called Raptiva then you need to becareful because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is investigating the psoriasis drug Raptiva for a possible link to a rare, but often deadly, brain infection called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML). At least two people have died and others may also have developed PML while taking Raptiva, made by Genentech. Raptiva has also been associated with meningitis, immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, and other life-threatening infections.

Probably you are wondering what is psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic immune-system disease which causes red, thick patches to develop on the skin. It is most common in people with diabetes, obesity, and heart disease and affects up to 7.5 million people in the United States. My brother has psoriasis in the scalp and at first we thought it was just dandruff, however it turned out to be psoriasis. I think I need to call him to tell him about the dangers of using this medicine.

If you or a loved one that has taken the psoriasis drug Raptiva and has suffered an injury or death, you may have legal rights. You and your family may be eligible to receive financial compensation for your medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other damages paid by the drug company or other responsible parties. Raptiva is now being investigated by the FDA for a possible link to a deadly brain infection, called PML. See here for more info: http://www.youhaverights.com/dangerous-drugs/raptiva

How Soon We Forget

I have a friend that has just delivered a baby. She complained to me that delivering a baby was a really painfull ordeal and she thinks that she does not want to do it again. Actually her response was the same as my response when I delivered my first baby.

I had a very difficult pregnancy. I had morning sickness or should I say “all day and night sickness” throughout my pregnancy. I was in labor for 24 hours and ended up getting an emergency caesarian operation to deliver my baby. However, I am amazed on how people can forget things so easily. After 4 years, I forgot all those sufferings and only remember the good things about being pregnant. So, we decided to get another baby. Well, as soon as I started to get morning sickness, I kind of regretted the decision. Hahahahaha! How could I forget?

Anyway, if you are pregnant at this moment take a look at the Beaute de Maman line. These products are for women who are pregnant. Beaute de Maman is a unique line of health and beauty products developed by a board-certified obstetrician to treat problems specifically related to the physiological and hormonal changes experienced by women during pregnancy. In fact, Beaute de Maman products have made it into the hands of such Hollywood celebrity moms-to-be including actresses Penelope Ann Miller, Salli Richardson-Whitfield (“Eureka”), Chyler Leigh (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Jennifer Blanc.

So, if you are a pregnant woman, check out these products and probably you might want to order now.

Sewing Needle Tip

Change your sewing needle at the start of each project. Needles do tend to get worn and may snag or pull fabric when dull. Typically, I will use a size 80 to 90 sharp for most of my sewing, but heavyweight fabrics (denims and twills) require a larger size and lightweight knits sew best with a small needle-sized ballpoint needle.

And, if you have problems with skipped stitches or tension problems, always change your needle. You may not know this, but the sewing needle is the first item changed when you take your sewing machine in for service. You may save a few dollars by doing this simple check yourself.

Looking For A Date?

If you are still single and looking for a date probably the best place to find is in your office. However, if somehow everybody in your office has already married, what to do? Probably you can ask your friends and family to find somebody. The question is can you trust your friend or family taste? If your answer it no, then I advise you to look into this site called passion search.

Although I am married, but I am curious about this site and give it a try. You have to fill in your personal details to sign up. This is the part that I am a bit hesistant to do. However, since I was really curious, I filled them all and signed up.

Once I signed up, they sent password to my email. When I sign in, I am amazed that there are about 50,000 members are online and I can directly looking at their fotos and personal information. While I was there a looking around, suddenly I received private chatting invitation from somebody. Since I was not looking for any relationship with another male, I turned him down.

If you are still single, I strongly suggest this site for you.

Holodomor Truth

Today I learnt about holodomor. The Holodomor (Ukrainian translation: death by starvation) refers to the famine of 1932–1933 in the Ukrainian SSR during which millions of people were starved to death because of the Soviet policies that forced farmers into collective farms. The Holodomor is considered one of the greatest national catastrophes to affect the Ukrainian nation in modern history where millions of inhabitants of Ukraine died of starvation in an unprecedented peacetime catastrophe. Estimates on the total number of casualties within Soviet Ukraine range mostly from from 2.2 million to 10 million.

Some scholars believed that this horror may have been designed as an attack on the rise of Ukranian nationalism. However others agreed that this was NOT an attept to destroy the Ukrainian nation, but an ineffective economic policy of the Communist governments of the Republics of the Soviet Union.

The scholarly and political debate will doubtless continue. Last September 2008, the U.S. Congress passed a resolution declaring the Holodomor a genocide; a month later, the European Parliament voted to recognize it as a "crime against humanity" but stopped short of the G-word. Meanwhile, it seems that the only time Russia's government remembers the Russian victims of the Terror-Famine is when it needs them to counter Ukrainian claims about "the so-called Holodomor”

Crocheting on Fabric

Crocheting lace onto fabric is a great way to add decorative elegance to everyday items in your home. The basic steps for creating this technique are simple and easy to do.
The first thing you need to do is prepare the fabric by washing and pressing it. This pre-shrinks the fabric and avoids any warping of the finished crochet work.
Next, hem any raw edges by folding them under once or twice and tacking in place with a basting stitch. For curved edges, cut notches (see illustration) to remove fullness when folding the edge under. The more delicate the fabric, the narrower the hem should be (about 1/4 inch for medium-weight cottons, about 1/8 inch for lightweight cottons and a narrow, rolled 1/16 inch for sheers). Purchased items will usually have finished edges, eliminating this step.

To minimize the size of the hole made when working stitches into the fabric, the end of the crochet hook used should be small enough to easily go through the fabric and still catch the thread as you work.
For the foundation stitches, which are usually single crochet stitches, place a slip knot onto hook, hold thread over edge of fabric, insert hook through front of fabric at base of hem (do not catch folded edge of hem), yarn over and draw a loop up to outer edge of hemmed fabric, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook. Continue working stitches, spacing them an even distance apart.
One method of spacing is to calculate the number of stitches per inch needed for the desired pattern. Mark the edge of fabric with pins at one-inch intervals, and space the stitches per inch between the pins. Remove the pins when finished with the foundation stitches.
When working a specific number of stitches onto the edge of square fabric, divide the total number by four and space that number across each quarter of the fabric edge. For round or oval edges, fold the fabric into quarters and place pins at each quarter point and space stitches between pins.

Try these tips with your favorite lace patterns. You can create an almost endless variety of beautiful projects by adding the beauty of crochet to fabric pieces, like this lovely Violets & Forget-Me-Nots Linen Doily. With its lacy round motifs worked on small linen circles, it's a great project to practice the techniques discussed in this article (and you'll have a beautiful floral piece to dress up your home!).

Back-Up Power

Have you ever stayed in the hotel and suddenly had a black out? I had. It happened when I was having a business meeting in Franklin Park, Illinois. I was staying in the hotel near my customer office. After having dinner I was quite very sleepy (I also had a couple glass of wine). I went back to my hotel, and was about to take a bath, then suddenly the whole thing was dark. I could not find anything, and when I called the room service, they told me that they had a black out, and they will give me a candle. However, until I went to sleep nobody come. They didn’t even start the generator. In the end, I just changed my clothes and went to sleep without even bother to take a bath or wash my face. I always bring my torchlight whenever I went outstation after that experience.

I think every hotel should have a back-up power. Not only hotel, even a home should have one. With the increased awareness to the natural disasters in our world, back-up power is becoming more popular for home use. When the power goes out in your neighborhood for whatever reason - bad storm, hurricane, someone crashed into the power grid - you can relax and trust in the knowledge of your back-up system. With a Solar Back Up Power system, you can feel even more confident. So long as there is a sun in the sky, you have a renewable and reusable source of power from solar energy. Unlike other generators that will eventually run out of power, the solar back-up power system lasts and renews its energy time after time.

You can find different types of back-up power systems generated by solar energy. Find a portable solar power solution that allows you to travel or pick up the system and go when you are in an emergency situation. You can find back-up systems that give you a varying level of energy output, depending on your situation (and budget!) In addition to the emergency systems, you can put a solar back up system into your everyday home energy system.

Silk

Silk has long been a favorite luxury fiber in fabrics, and in more recent times, yarns as well. Few fashion items or home accessories -- whether sewn, crocheted or knitted -- feel more exquisite than those made with silk. Here is some interesting trivia on how silk came to be introduced to the Western world in the first place. We certainly owe a big debt of gratitude to two very brave people!

Nearly 3,000 years before Christ, the silkworm was bred exclusively in the great empires of the Far East and throughout the Orient. It was considered a national treasure and a closely-guarded secret for generations. Through six major Chinese dynasties, anyone caught giving away the silkworm secret for making the fine, luxurious threads was tried, publicly disgraced and executed. In fact, there are many stories of attempted smuggling in China that span history for more than 3,000 years.

It is recorded that two Christian missionaries, who were in China from their native homeland of Persia, hid silkworm eggs in their hollow canes as they boarded a ship for their home church in Constantinople. Managing to pass safely through frequent rigorous inspections, they were able to return home and breed their own silkworms to produce silk in Turkey, Anatolia and other parts of Asia Minor. This theft of a Chinese national treasure introduced silk to the Western world for the first time.

Cleaning My Driveway

After 7 years staying in the house that I currently stay, my concrete driveway starting to look dirty. I am thinking to clean my driveway but not sure how, until I found this concrete cleaner site that sells many types of concrete cleaner.

It is said that to properly clean concrete from a soil or stain, the identification of what has caused the problem is critical. Once identified, choosing the proper removal agent is greatly simplified. If the offending substance cannot be identified, it will be necessary to experiment with different treatments in an inconspicuous area.

So, if you plan to clean your concrete, go ahead and check it out yourself.

Woman Power

In 1840, to assist in raising funds to erect a monument to the Battle of Bunker Hill, New England women held a fair to sell their handmade items. Young and old alike, those who rarely worked and those who toiled daily, joined together to crochet, knit, sew and embroider a variety of useful, attractive items that could be sold for the purpose of building the monument. The women raised an astonishing $33,066 in several days -- more than enough to pay for the monument. This is a great testament to "woman power," well before it became a socially conscious issue!

Perfumes

Lets Talk Perfume. My husband gave me a lot of perfumes. I still have 4 bottles of perfumes, 2 bottles are barely used and the rest still haven’t open from the boxes yet. It’s not like I don’t like to wear perfume. I used to wear perfumes long time ago. However, now I simply forgot to wear whenever I am going out. I like flowery smell kind of perfume, not too strong or too spicy. My husband on the other hand, likes spicy kind of smell. He has extensive parfume collections and he always uses perfume whenever he went out of the house.

Need New Phone?

Actually it is time for me to replace my old cellphone with a new one. I dropped my cellphone many times already. I think this is the reason why my cellphone reception is not very clear. I am not very hi-tech person. Thus, as long as my cellphone can make and received phone call, it’s enough for me. My husband, on the other hand is the opposite of me. I am sure he wants this brand new and unlocked blackberry phones if he sees it. I am not sure whether I should show it to him. Hmmm! Probably I should…..NOT! Teee Heeee…

Anyway, if you want to buy new cellphone, you can try to look at GadgetCircle. This site is very easy to navigate and they carry wide selection of cellphone.

Reuseable Grocery Bags

Today, everything is about "going green" as we are more focused than ever on the environment and what we can all do to help protect our planet. Cutting down on the use of plastics that clog our landfills and paper that continues to strip our natural wood resources is a great way to help contribute to a better environment.

With that in mind, here is a really cool reusable grocery bags that gives shoppers a great alternative to the question of "paper or plastic?"

Substitute Yarn

Have you ever experienced want to make something badly, but we don’t have yarn required in the pattern? I experienced that many times, but I always manage to find the substitute yarn on my stash using this guide:

2 strands fingering weight (#1) = 1 strand sport weight (#2)
2 strands sport weight (#2) = 1 strand worsted weight (#4)
2 strands worsted weight (#4) = 1 strand bulky weight (#5)

Obesity

The other day I chatted with my friend. I asked about his sister-in-law which is also my friend. We have never met for almost 10 years. He said that she has 1 teenage daughter and she is going to be taller than the parents, but she also has obesity problem.

Do you find yourself looking around these days in your neighborhoods or at the park and wondering where all the kids are? Does it seem as if there are more kids out there who weigh as much as their adult counterparts? It's not your imagination. Obesity is not a health issue anymore. It’s the way of living problem. If you can not change that, obesity is always be there.

Raising Smart Girls

There are special challenges to raising girls. We have to teach our daughters to be safe, while encouraging their independence and self-confidence. We want our daughter to be a smart girl and know how to handle every situation confidently. There are several things that you as a parent can do in order to help your daughter to achieve that. You can empower your daughter by making her feel capable and confident to manage the world around her by demonstrate that you value her opinions and prove that you are willing to consider them, encourage your daughter to express her strong feelings and take positive social action in the face of perceived wrongs, encourage and help her learn to make good decisions for herself, do some serious confidence building by praising her for a job well done. On the other hand we also must strict and set the boundary on what she can or can not do. Don't back down or be afraid to fight necessary battles that can affect her health, well-being, or future happiness.

Recently, I come across a very good video. In this video Amy Poehler interviewed several smart teenage girls. I think this widget not only useful for teenage girls, but also useful for mothers in order to understand what their girl wants at that age.

See below video yourself, and if you like what you see, you can get your own widget here and embed it on your blogs, myspace and friendster account, and other media sites.

Do You Know That.....

The American Civil War caused devastating shortages of all types of supplies used in normal day-to-day life before the war. The lack of Southern cotton and other textile products from the North created a nationwide shortage of dress and household goods of all types. There were often severe shortages of adequate clothing, warm blankets and even bandages, especially in the South.

Southern women searched out and used up every piece of textile they could find. They tore up their silk dresses, petticoats, extra curtains and bed linens to make simple, serviceable clothes for their families. They unraveled wool blankets or worn clothing to knit or crochet warm mittens, socks and hats.

These industrious women transformed items such as animal skins, blanket scraps and pieces of canvas into shoes. They also learned how to weave and spin, even using the cotton stuffing from their mattresses to spin into yarn, which, low grade and poor quality though it was, became knitted or crocheted items that helped their families survive.

During the same period, decorative trims such as braid and tape were not available, and women found it difficult to weave these types of trim narrow enough to be suitable for clothing. They discovered that long, crocheted chains of thread worked well for braid, applying it in a variety of ways from single chains to wider "tapes" made by sewing several chains of the same or different colors together.

Don't Waste Money on Overpriced Flowers for Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is approaching. What do you plan to give to your love one? Earlier on our marrieage, I always got flowers from my husband on Valentine’s Day. However, later on I told him not to buy anymore since I always thought that buying flowers on Valentines’s day is a waste of money. Let face it, Valentines is just like the significant other holiday and it can be hard on the pocket. Flower stores make a killing by increasing their prices during Valentines week. I don’t want my husband to waste our hard earn money on overpriced flowers for Valentine's Day. I would much rather be loved all year long than waste $50 - $75 on one stupid day a year!

With that money I can buy Ceiva digital photo frames. CEIVA Digital Photo frame is very different from the other digital photo frames. You can receive photo from your friends or family members from everywhere around the world. No PC or internet is required. You just have to plug and connect the digital frame to the phone line and you are ready to enjoy all the photos without have to print them.

Now you can buy the frame for only $29.99 with purchase of year subscription to picture plan and if you order it now, you will get FREE ground shipping. This offer is valid until 13 February only.

Bridal T-Shirts

Getting married is exciting, but if you plan to have a proper ceremony and proper wedding party, it can take months to plan. Luckily when I got married last time, I had a wedding organizer that take care everything. Not only she organized everything, she even paid for everything. I think you can guess who she was, My Mom! All I had to do was just to show up on the rehearsal and the wedding. I was very impressed on how she managed to handle everything. Too bad that she didn’t know about this crystal-decorated Bride t-shirts at Wedding ParTees.com, otherwise she would buy them and make sure everybody wear it on rehersal time.
These bridal shirts are very cute and pretty. The colors choice is all nice (I especially like the pink one) and you can choose whether you want short or long sleeves. I think these bridal shirts perfect to wear on engagement announcement, wedding shower, shopping for wedding vendors, or wedding rehearsal.

At this moment they have “after Christmast sale”. If you buy 5 or more shirts, they will give you 10% discount for your entire order. So, if you are getting married soon, go ahead and hop to Wedding ParTees.com.

Crochet Samplers

In the 19th century, before printed crochet patterns were widely available, a valuable teaching tool and source of creative inspiration were crochet samplers. These decorative pieces were handed down through the generations to become not only treasured family heirlooms, but important sources of crochet instruction. They were often added to, joined together into impressive collages or simply preserved in family albums.

Young girls of this time period were taught to sew, knit and crochet. Needle cases were often the first item they made, as they were small, simple projects to complete and they made appropriate gifts for family and friends.

Will Power

My godmother had breast cancer. The doctor already told her that she only had 2 more months although she already had both breasts removed. Even though the doctor vonis was very bleak, she always managed to be cheerful and very optimistic. She always told me that she would not give up hope easily. She always focused to go on living just for another day. True enough she manage to live passed the two months that the doctor predicted. She even managed to live another 5 years, which was a miracle.

She reminds me to Lance Amstrong, who also had determination to persevere regardless of circumstances. His experience recovering from testicular cancer had a huge impact upon him. So much so that he won the Tour de France a record breaking 7 times from 1999 to 2005.

Sometimes you have to look beyond the impossible and seek answers in a new and exciting realm of possibilities. This is what the new movie, What If? The Movie featuring Ken Cavanaugh talking about. "What If?" features unique and fascinating interviews with many of today's most intrepid doctors, scientists, visionaries and philanthropists combined with stunning international cinematography and visual effects, will encourage you to look beyond the impossible and seek answers in a new and exciting realm of possibilities!

Watch What If? The Movie Trailer here:

Shelburne Museum

The Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vt., has a fantastic quilt collection. The exhibits change throughout the year, so chances are, even if you have been there before, you won't see the same quilts again. From May 17 to Oct. 25, the museum exhibit, Piecing Together the Past: The Quilts of Florence Peto, will feature some of the finest examples of Peto's quilts from both the museum's collection and on loan from a direct descendant.

Florence Peto was an influential collector and quiltmaker, born in 1881 and died in 1970. She worked tirelessly to bring attention to quilts as an important and integral part of our heritage. Curator Jean Burks, who is organizing the exhibit, says Peto's "goal was to show that this true form of folk art was as historically meaningful as the written word."
In the 1950s, Florence Peto had an influence on the museum founder Electra Havemeyer Webb, encouraging her to include quilts as an essential part of the museum's collection. The Shelburne Museum was among the first to exhibit quilts as works of textile art. The museum's textiles collection, one of the largest in the country, includes some 800 quilts, coverlets, blankets and rugs.

Piecing Together the Past is the first exhibition to bring together 10 Peto quilts on loan from a direct descendant. The exhibit also includes a selection of eight historic examples she collected that were acquired specifically for Shelburne Museum. During the 1940s and 1950s Peto designed and created an amazing body of quilt work using her extensive collection of Centennial and traditional fabrics. She developed a distinctive style using antique copperplate and roller-printed calicos, chintzes and toiles over a homespun background. Her signature artistic technique is distinguished by floral-vine appliquéd borders, elaborate broderie-perse work and fussy-cut flowers.

Four-Squared Quilt

The Four-Squared Quilt by Jean Ann Wright is in the February 2009 issue of Quilter's World.

One of my favorite projects in the February issue of Quilter's World is the Four-Squared Quilt by Jean Ann Wright that appears on the cover. I really like the mixture of fabrics and the black-and-white animal print used in the sashing and borders. This quilt looks easy to stitch and is sure to add pizzazz to any room.

Are You a Drug Addict?

When we thought about drug addiction, we immediately thought about people that got addiction with coccain, heroin or meth and eliminate the possibility that we can become a drug addict. However, do you know that we can also become a drug addict if we eat too many pain killers? Yes, pain killer like Xanax, Valium, Librium, etc, can also make you to become a drug addict.
Pain killer pills normally have active ingredient called Benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepines are a class of minor tranquilizers used to provide sedation, muscle-relaxation and anti-anxiety effects. Also known as "benzos" or "benzies", benzodiazepines are ingestible in pill form or injected. Benzodiazepines can be found in many prescription tranquilizer medications, including the one I mentioned above.

Because of their targeted nature, benzodiazepine medications have few long term effects other than physical and/or psychological addiction. Benzodiazepines typically become less effective after between 2 weeks and 4 months, depending upon their desired effect. As an individual continues to use benzodiazepines, increasing amounts must be taken to produce the same calming or sedating effects. Many users find themselves unable to sleep properly without benzodiazepine medication.

So if you or your love one consistently using pain killer, and can not pass the day without eating some, then becareful, as most likely that you develop an addiction to drugs and drug treatment is needed.

Where To Keep Your Projects

I have too many works in progress going on. Some are knitting and some are crocheting. For bigger projects I normally put them each inside a bag. However, for smaller projects, I put each project inside this jar. You can buy this jar in IKEA (called SLOM). With 4” height and 4” in diameter, they are perfect to keep small projects.

Become An Olympic Torchbearer

The host for the next Olympic 2010 is Canada. The Olympic Flame will pass through every province and territory in Canada, a journey of over 35,000 kilometres in our nation alone.
If you are a Canadian teenager age between 13 to 19 years old, you could be selected by Coca-Cola to become one of Torchbearer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay! Debbie Bliss Stella

This cardigan is simple and classic. Made using aran weight Debbie Bliss Stella yarn. Fibre Content is 60% Silk/20% Rayon/20% Cotton. I saw in Elann the price is only USD 3.75 per 50 gram. Since 60% is silk, I imagine the yarn must be very soft and silky. The one that make me tempted to buy is that the fact this yarn is machine washable! So many temptation and so little money. LOL!

Become An Active Youth

A teenager who is physically active and takes part in any physical activities is less likely to become overweight as a young adult, compared to teenagers who are not physically active during their adolescence.

For maximum health benefits, your teenagers need at least one hour of moderate intensity activity each day. The most important thing to remember when encouraging your teenagers to get active is that they need to enjoy the activities they do and have fun. That is why I think SOGO Active is very good site in encouraging the youth to spend more time doing physical activities on their own or with friends. SOGO Active is unlike any other youth fitness initiative because it gives young Canadians the tools to design, change and control their own individual get active plan.

Sometimes you may not know about all the activities available to you. That's why Sogo Active partners with community organizations, and allows you to hook up with them as hosts if you want. Community hosts are organizations that have registered for sogo that provide young people with the grounds and facilities, equipment, expertise or other supports to make physical activity as simple as possible. For example, this might include swimming pools, basketball courts, parks, a hip hop instructor, or Ultimate Frisbee equipment.

Going Green Tote

Today, everything is about "going green" as we are more focused than ever on the environment and what we can all do to help protect our planet. Cutting down on the use of plastics that clog our landfills and paper that continues to strip our natural wood resources is a great way to help contribute to a better environment.

With that in mind, here is a really cool mesh Tuck-Away Tote that gives shoppers a great alternative to the question of "paper or plastic?" It conveniently folds up into a smaller carry-along piece that can easily be tucked into a purse or pocket. It's great for crafters and travelers -- or going to the beach, too!
