Advertise Online

Do you own a business or are thinking about starting one? Well, the one thing that every business owner needs to know is that in order to survive, you need customers who are willing to pay for your products or services. The only way to drive customers to your business is to advertise. Without advertisement, even if you have a very good product, nobody will know about it and nobody will buy it.

Some people even say that with good advertising, you can sell ice in the North Pole or sand in the dessert.

Nowadays, more and more people are using internet to do their shopping. It’s fast and convenient. You don’t even have to leave your home to do some shopping. When I am looking for something, the first thing I do is to search for it on the internet to see where I can buy it. Thus, if you are not advertising your business on the internet, you are loosing out, big time.

Patchwork

Besides knitting and crocheting, I also like to do some patchwork. So far I have only made 1 patchwork blanket. Yesterday I saw someone in Ravelry, who made a crocheted blanket that looks like patchwork. I love the idea and I want to try it someday.

You can see the review and ratings first before you get an online estimates and make an appointment without get out from your house. My Favorite Designer

One of my favorite knitting designers is Kim Hargreaves. She used to be one of designer in Rowan Knitting Magazine.

Kim in the end decided to left Rowan after 20 years become a key performer in that magazine. After she left a lot of the reader think that the magazine is not as good as it used to be.

That complain is without no reason, since Kim had managed the Rowan brand; creating hundreds of individual designs; selecting new yarn colors; master-minding the fashion stories for the magazines and styling the photographs that would inspire so many people to knit with style.

Now she has opened her own business, she is selling the knitting kit, the pattern plus the yarn. The picture on the side is one of the sample of her kit. Recently she also published her own books.

I think her designs have a timeless, elegant, and sophisticated look that very rarely can be found in other designer.

Perfect Eyes

I think I need lasik eye surgery. I know it's expensive, but just imagine having 20/20 vision. I strain my eyes quite often when I do some craft, that is why my eyes is not as perfect as it used to be. My friend has already done it, and she is happy with the result. She has more confident and doesn’t have to go through all the hassle of wearing contact lens anymore.

Designer Wannabe

I always wanted to be a knitting or crocheter designer. I thought it's a good opportunity to be able to sell knitting or crochet pattern online. Just think that you only have to design a pattern one time, and you can sell your design forever online. Don't you think it's a good idea?

Knitting On The Car

I always get car sick whenever I try to knit while I am in a moving car, so most of the time I just sit on the passenger seat without doing anything. What a waste of time.

I know some people can knit while they are travelling in a car. What I mean is as a passenger and not while they are driving. Knitting while driving can cause you to have a car accident, so don’t try it! LOL!

Speaking about accident, if you need to find an auto body shop to fix your car you can find it online. You can even see ratings, reviews and get estimates over the web, such as auto body downey here.

I Lost My Hook

So after several days, I finally managed to finish 1 square (sigh!). I wanted to cut the thread but could not find my scissors. So, I put down my hook and got up to get a scissors from my desk. After cutting the thread, I was ready to start another square only to realize that I lost my hook. I looked everywhere and yet the hook seemed to disappear into thin air. Since I didn’t have another spare hook of that size, it seemed to me that I had to buy another one if I wanted to finish the blanket. However, when I was about to sleep, I checked my pocket one more time, and guess what? I found it! I found it very weird that I found my hook in my pocket because actually that was the first place I checked when I realized that I lost my hook and throughout the day I checked it many times. It was as though “somebody” borrowed my hook and put it back into my pocket. Spooky!

Lifetime Decision

When I was expecting my first daughter, I have never heard about cord blood banking. I only knew about it much later on. When I was expecting my second daughter, I was seriously considering to preserve my baby’s cord blood because I know that the stem cells collected from cord blood can be used to treat 70 diseases, including leukemia, anemia, lymphoma, diabetes and cerebral palsy. However, after further consideration, we realized that our financial condition really could not permit us to do it. I am really disappointed that we missed such a great opportunity to preserve our baby cord blood. I wished that the price to store cord blood was not that expensive so it is more affordable for more parents.

Only recently I learned that Cryo-Cell offers affordable pricing/financing plans and options. They help families make the best decisions that that fit their needs and budget. In fact, parents who have ever stored cord blood stem cells with ANY bank (private or public), qualify for Cryo-Cell’s Returning Client pricing.

I am really interested in one of their current offers, UCord 21-Year Storage Plan for only USD3,495 which includes enrollment, U-Cord collection kit, processing and testing, outbound kit shipping and return medical courier service (U.S. and Puerto Rico only), and 21 years of pre-paid storage.

Probably next kid :)

Crochet for Grandma?

Who said that only grandma wears crocheted wearables? It's an in thing right now to wear crocheted wearable. Even stars also wear them nowadays. Look a this picture on the left. Don't they look fabolous wearing crocheted wearables? I bet it cost very expensive, because as far as I know, there is no machine in the world that can crochet. It's handmade!

Hand Made Halloween Costume?

So it's the time to find a perfect Halloween costume. I am wondering whether there is anybody who makes their own crocheted or knitted Halloween costume.

Although I think by making your own costume, you can have a one of a kind costume and guaranteed that nobody else will be wearing the same costume in the party, but it is also a difficult task to do as it will take a lot of time to make the costume.

As for me, I prefer to buy my Halloween Costumes online. It’s more practical and the price is also not too expensive. I don’t think I want to waste my efforts to make something that I only wear once in a year.

Crocheted Pumpkin Bookmark

The Halloween season is already knocking on the door. If you plan to have a in-house Halloween party for your children so that they can celebrate the holiday in a safer, friendlier environment, probably you can make several of this crocheted Pumpkin Bookmark as a party favor. It’s easy to make and it will encourage your children to read.

GPS Tracking Kid

I always teach my eldest daughter to stay close to me whenever we go for shopping. Normally, I always hold her hand, but sometimes I need both my hands to pick something up or to choose something. The problem with small children is that when they see something interesting, they tend to forget about what their parents told them.

When my eldest daughter was about 2 years old, we went to the Mall, and in a second, suddenly I realized that I didn’t see her by my side. I panicked and quickly called her name. Luckily, another shopper around there quickly told me that my daughter was just behind the display counter.

I think it’s a good idea for parents to place a GPS Tracking inside their child’s backpack or pocket. It will allow us to verify and monitor our child's location in case they wander off by themselves.

Another Project on My Long List

With so many projects that I want to do, I am starting to think that 24 hours a day is not enough for me. I need more time than 24 hours a day. I also started to think that sleeping is such a waste of time. We need to sleep at least 6 hours in that 24 hours period. It means one quarter of our life is use up just for sleeping. I just wish that I can knit or crochet while I am sleeping. I can knit or crochet while watching TV, I have read that some people can even knit while they are reading, why can’t we sleep and knit at the same time?

Pets

I don't have any dogs, and I actually don't understand why people like to have one. My husband on the other hand has always had dogs, since he was a small boy. He told me that having a pet is good as it will teach children to develop responsibilities from a tender age. Not only that, pets also bring more happiness into people's lives.

According to a survey, owning a dog came up tops in the happiness index, with 81% of the 2000 people surveyed stating that their happiness "significantly improved" upon getting a dog. I guess the saying "Happiness is Pets" is quite true.

What Is On My Hook?

At this moment I am making a crocheted top using thread. Some people don’t like to crochet using thread because it takes a long time to complete the crochet design. I do agree that if thread is used in a crochet design, it will take a long time to complete the design however, you will always get nice results by using thread as the results will not be too bulky. If you are using yarn to crochet, normally it will result in a much thicker finished product and it when you wear it, it might make you look fatter than you really are.

Anyway, when I finish my top, I will show the results here.

Elann

Have you ever heard of Elann before? It's a discounted yarn online shop based in Canada. I found out about the shop only recently and am now having a good time browsing through the online shop. They have a good selection of yarns with very reasonable (read: cheap) prices. To tell you the truth, I have a lot of yarn at home now and I don't think I will able to finish it by next year or the year after next. However, after looking at Elann’s collection I am tempted to buy some more yarn.

Fiore Bag

I found another nice designer crocheted bag. The name is even similar like mine. I love the flowers details. I guess that is why they name it Fiore. Because Fiore in italian means flower.

Have you ever seen a women carry a crocheted handbag? Probably you have if you are into this handycraft thing. But, if you are not probably you haven't seen it. New File Extension Library

Nowadays you can watch video using your mobiles phone. You can get the 3gp videos from the computer using a data cable, infrared or your bluetooth connection. Most 3G capable mobile phones support the playback and recording of video in 3gp format. Some newer cell phones without 3G capabilities may also playback and record in this format.

The file extension 3gp is a relatively new format that represents the Third Generation Presence. It is utilized as a container format for multimedia files in general and video files in particular. The .3gp file extension is often times referred to as the simplified counterpart of the MP4 container format, which gained prominence with the introduction of the iPod entertainment consoles from Apple, Inc. For more information about how to open and how to fix file association errors, you can click on the link.

Crocheted Bedspread

I found this image from Ravelry. The main project is a knit project. However, if you see the white bedspread under it, you can see that it is crocheted. I think it's beautiful. Someday, I want to make a white heirloom bedspread like this.

Home Music School

Although I am expert in handicrafts like crocheting, knitting, quilting and sewing, I cannot play any musical instrument. At one time, I was planning to learn to play piano. However, because of the time constrain, in the end I didn’t take the lessons.

I heard that Amadeus Home Music School provides private lessons by coming to our house. I think this is more convenience as I can arrange private lessons at a time that works best for me. They are a national organization with teachers in every state. According to the website, they follow the age old method of one-on-one instruction handed down by master musicians, while keeping in touch with the latest cutting-edge teaching methods.

Beads and Sequins

When I went shopping and I saw cute little handicraft store that sells beads and sequins, I always buy several packages. You can always attach sequins and beads on your clothes. Or, you can also attach some beads and sequins on a headband. It makes simple headband become glamorous.

New Weight Loss Method

With all the nice dresses that I want to make, sometimes I am wondering whether I have the correct body figure to wear them. Sure, they look good on professional models, because they have perfect bodies. I think that is the reason why all those models are slim. So, they will look good wearing any kind of dress.

I need to exercise to tone my body and also watch my diet. I need to get rid my bulging tummy and flabby arms. With regular exercise and healthy diet, not only I can achieve my perfect body, but I also will avoid heart disease or having a stroke or chronic illnesses like diabetes, adrenal fatigue, hormonal problems, etc.

When I search in the internet about healthy diet, I came across this site. They claim that by using their method, you will notice fat loss within just 7 days of starting! Not only reduce your weight, you will also:

Experience Permanent & Lasting Weight Loss
Drastically Increase Your Energy
Eat More & Still Lose Fat
Continue to Eat Many of the Foods You Enjoy
Manipulate Your Hormones to Burn Fat Faster
Look Thinner in the Mirror in Just 10 Days
Become a Stronger, Happier, & Healthier Person

They said that low calorie diets just don’t work. You will never lose weight by starving yourself. If you eat 2,000 calories a day, your body’s metabolism sets itself to burn 2,000 calories per day. If you start a low calorie diet by eating 1,500 calories per day & start starving yourself, your body will actually adjust to start burning just 1,500 calories per day. Not only that, but because your body is actually starving it will start stealing nutrients from other portions of your body just to survive. This is very dangerous and unhealthy.

I totally agree with what they said. It is very refreshing to find a diet that will help me lose weight without have to go through the suffering of not enough to eat.

After reading some of their explanation about their fat loss method, I think Thefatlossguru.com is better than Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig diet.

Crochet Idea (Part 3)

Another top that I want to make. Simple yet very stylish. I like the crochet motifs and the button details. I think I have white camisole to wear inside.

Crochet Idea (Part 2)

This is another crochet dress that I would like to make. I am planning to make a shrug to go with this dress. The reason is because my upper arms are very big now. Wearing something sleeveless is not a good idea.

Auto Body Repair (Continue)

I’ve already mentioned before, that if you have been in an accident, your insurance company could not make you to bring your car to their auto body shop. It’s up to you, where do you want to bring your car to.

Make sure that the auto body shop you select meet the following criteria:

1. Written lifetime warranty
2. Customer satisfaction follow-up system
3. Minimum 95% customer satisfaction
4. Approved Business Management System
5. Dun & Bradstreet verified
6. Minimum facility requirement--CIC Shop Class A
7. Participate in CollisionRepairExperts.com Annual Audit
8. 10 years business experience

In CollisionRepairExperts.com you can find experts in the field of auto body repair. They meet all the criteria above.

Crochet Idea (Part 1)

I think this is very pretty dress. I am thinking to make one for myself using this idea. If I make one, I will change the crochet motifs to something that more solid and not so transparant. The reason is because I hate to wear another layer inside. It made me looks fat.

Forums

Previously, I didn’t know that there was a huge community of people that liked handy craft on the net. Whenever, I complete a handy craft project, I admire it myself before keeping it in my closet. Once in a while, I would show it to my friends, but since they are not a crafter like me, they don’t know how to appreciate the true beauty of my finished object.

Only recently, I found a forum dedicated for crafters. Whenever I post my handy-craft projects, they always have nice comments about it. It makes me feel flattered and satisfied.

Anyway, I just found out that you can host your own forum. ProphpBB provides secure, reliable and fast Free Forum Hosting for hundreds of forums at absolutely no cost. Running phpBB3 in their customized environment, you'll have access to many exciting standard and premium features.

Currently, they host many forums, and the top forum at this moment is AQQ forum.

Japanese Pattern Book

I love japanese pattern craft book. I always think that their instruction easy to understand. You don't have to understand Japanese, because all their pattern are using diagram or symbol.

When I saw this pattern book in YesAsia, I tempted to buy since I loved the pattern on the cover. However, since at that YesAsia didn't accept paypal, in the end I decided not to buy.

Recently, when I went to YesAsia site again, I saw that they accepted paypal. But, I didn't see this book anymore.

What to look for in a Advertising Agency

When it comes to choosing an advertising agency there are many factors which can dictate how you decide which one is the best for you. Once you have decided that you need an advertising agency, you might want to consider the following:

Before you work with any advertising agency it can be a good idea to look at their portfolio first. This will allow you to get an idea if their creative work is up to your level of expectation, and can also give you an opportunity to see if they have worked with any other companies that operates in a similar sector to your own.

When it comes to pricing, choosing the cheapest option is not always the best. Different agencies have different levels of skill and this can often be reflected in their price.

The most important factor when choosing an advertising agency is that the agency must demonstrate knowledge about marketing tools other that just advertising. A good Full Service Advertising Agency produces advertising that creates a desire to buy. It is not supposed to make people say, "What wonderful advertising!" or "What a nice advertising!" Instead, it is supposed to make people say, "I want to buy that product."

Why I love to Crochet

Crochet is a craft that I love the most. The reason is because I can bring along crochet project with me anywhere. All I need to bring is the yarn, a crochet hook and a scissor.

Some project need you to make small pieces before you join them together to become big piece, thus it is easier for me to carry around in my handbag.

Below dress is an example. You make smaller motifs first, then you can join them together afterward.

Patient Crafter?

Normally when people found out that I do craft, they normally said that I must be a very patience person. Actually, on the contrary, I am not a very patience person. The reason why I am crafting is because I don't have any patience to wait for something. Thus, normally I always bring along whatever I project that I am doing at that time while I am waiting for something. Like when I was waiting for my turn in the doctor.

How to Get Ahead in Recruitment

In many sectors and industries, recruiting good quality staff is a real challenge. For example, a recent survey of UK Finance Directors identified that 64% of them were finding it difficult to recruit good people. Finding good staff is difficult but retaining them is even more difficult especially in a big city like London.

The way in which you tackle recruitment has a big impact on your success at recruiting the best people. Sadly, many organizations have more rigors around petty cash expenditure than one of their biggest investment decisions.

Each company has specific requirements, and who is more appropriate to see to these requirements being met than a recruitment agency, that, specializes in both recruiting and training personnel regularly and effectively?

The most important advantage that derives from using the services of a recruitment agency is that companies can find the best staff to meet their specific requirements. The standards of each company vary according to the way in which they balance cost and quality. This leads to varied requirements, and a good recruitment agency can meet even the most demanding ones.

MKH Advertising is one of the most respected names in London Recruitment industry. Using a range of media channels including print, online, outdoor, radio and TV, we provide recruitment marketing and candidate attraction solutions driven by a single goal: to fill vacancies quickly, efficiently and cost effectively.

Another Craft

This is another craft that I want to try. I got the kit to make this from my brother long time ago. He got a store that sells these kind of stuff. So many design to choose. I believe I got 5 or 6 different designs. The reason I haven't started yet because I got small children. I am afraid that they pick the small parts and put them in their mouth.

Favorite Seafood

I acquired my taste for crawfish during my first trip to New Orleans almost 12 years ago. I was there with a couple of friends. We stopped at an all you can eat seafood restaurant. It was where that I saw those little critters.

Eating crawfish needs a certain technique. They are boiled in a vat of spices. To get to the sweet and spicy meat you need to break the body in half, suck out the head innards which already has absorbed all the spices, and squeeze out the meat. It's not a lot of meat, that is why I like it.

To really properly enjoy the whole process, you have to use your naked hands. After you have finished eating crawfish, your table is dirty and probably your dress is filthy, but your appetite is satisfied.

I think in the incoming Great American Seafood Cook Off, this dish would be a great contender for a Cook off. I would like to see a variation of this dish.

I am very excited to see this event, because I am a big fan of seafood dishes and I think this event brings out the positivity of domestic seafood sustainability where the source is known, where it is local and fresh.

What is your favorite seafood dish? Share it with your reader.

White Crocheted Tunic

I found this photo in the internet quite long time ago, save it and had forgotten about it until today. I always like to crochet with white thread, thus when I saw this photo, I was thinking to make one for myself.

I think except for the lace part, everything else made from single crochet. I don't think I want to do that, since I really don't like single crochet. I will look at my stitch dictionary and choose other stitch.

Good Eyes

I have a very good vision. Even I am almost 40 years old but I don't need to wear glasses yet. I think it is because I have a good reading habit since I was small. I have never read with dim light, or read while I am laying down.

If you don't have good vision and have to wear prescribed glasses, don't worry. You still can wear glasses in style with Zenni. zennioptical.com Sells Stylish Prescription Glasses Online from $8.

Interweave Knit Fall 2008 Issue

Interweave Knit Fall 2008 issue is up. Which one you like? I love 3 of them. Windowpane Coat, Afterthought Darts Cardigan and Far Afield Vest.

Far Afield Vest: I am not a big fan of vest. If I make this, probably I make it with 3/4 sleeves.
Windowpane Coat: I always love coat, but I am not sure whether I like the texture or not.
Afterthought Dart Cardigan: I love the color. I love bright color and I love cardigan, thus I think this is my no 1 favorite among the three. As for Far Afield Vest, I am not a big fan of vest. If I make this, probably I make it with 3/4 sleeves.

Stylish Glasses

Some people have to wear prescribed glasses. If you are among to this category, then you must wear glasses with style. If possible you can buy several different frames to match your outfit.

I saw Zenni on Fox. This company, ZenniOptical.com sells stylish prescription glasses online from $8. You will find huge selection of frames, with single vision lens, sunsensor (potochromic)lens, tinted sunglasses lens, bifocal lens and progressive lens.

Interweave Crochet Summer 2008 Issue

For Interweave Crochet Summer 2008 Issue, my favorites are Santa Fee Shawl, Midsummer's Dream Camisole, and Diamond Sage Wrap.
Santa Fee Shawl is very pretty, but it doesn't seem practical. Midsummer's Dream Camisole also very pretty, but I got big upper arm, thus wearing something sleeveless doen't look good on me. Thus, most probably I will make Diamond Sage Wrap.

Stem Cell

About a year ago, my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson disease. It was quite a shock for us as just one month before she was diagnosed with the disease, she was organizing my brother’s wedding. At that time she was healthy and very energetic.

However, her condition was deteriorating even after the doctor prescribed medication for Parkinsons Disease. Therefore, we seeked a second medical opinion. To our surprise, we found out that her initial diagnosis was incorrect. Her second diagnosis results showed that she was having hyper thyroidial symtoms. After the proper treatment and medication was prescribed, her health is improving.

After doing further research on the internet, I just found out in CNNMoney that our menstrual blood is the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

This is possible because with C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future.

I think this information is very important to us. We really can not predict the future, but if we can use our menstrual blood as a potential treatment for life-threatening diseases that we might suffer in the future, I really don’t mind investing in C'elle.

Here is the press release:

Taking Control: Future Therapies for a Host of Serious Diseases May Be Found in Women's Menstrual Blood

July 07, 2008: 01:28 PM EST

OLDSMAR, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood.

Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies.

"C’elle enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way," said Michelle Kay, Marketing and Sales Manager for C’elle. "We live in exciting times, as science and technology are discovering how extremely valuable menstrual blood stem cells really are, and the enormous treatment potential they represent for future therapies. C’elle’s ongoing research is supporting these promising findings."

Yarn Sale

I just found out from Ravelry that WEBS has a summer sale. Debbie Bliss Cotton Angora for only USD 2/ball. That is cheap! However, there is only one color choice left. I love the color though. The problem is I got so much yarn already.
